LipoLas Treatment Guide

LipoLas Aftercare: Supporting Recovery and Optimising Results.

LipoLas is a minimally invasive laser lifting and contouring treatment designed to refine shape, improve skin quality and support tissue remodelling. While the technology plays a critical role, post-treatment care is essential in achieving smooth, consistent results.

This guide outlines best-practice aftercare following LipoLas treatment, helping patients understand how to support healing and maximise outcomes.

Compression: A Key Part of Recovery

Compression garments are one of the most important elements of LipoLas aftercare. They support the treated tissue as it adapts following fat emulsification and thermal stimulation.

Patients are advised to wear compression garments:

  • Continuously for the first 24 to 48 hours
  • Then during the day for approximately 10 to 14 days

Proper compression helps to:

  • Reduce swelling
  • Minimise bruising
  • Prevent irregularities
  • Limit fluid pockets

Patients should be advised that consistent compression is not optional, but a vital part of achieving smooth contouring results.

Supporting Lymphatic Drainage

Once fat has been emulsified during LipoLas treatment, the body relies on the lymphatic system to clear it effectively. Supporting lymphatic drainage is therefore essential.

Clinics may recommend:

  • Manual lymphatic drainage
  • Pressotherapy
  • Gentle massage after 48 hours
  • Increased daily hydration

These measures help accelerate fat clearance, reduce post-treatment congestion and refine final contours.

Managing Swelling and Discomfort

Mild swelling, tenderness or discomfort is common following treatment. Patients may be advised to apply cold compresses or ice packs to the treated area for short intervals to help reduce swelling, ensuring the cold pack is wrapped to protect the skin.

Any prescribed medication should be taken strictly as advised by the treating clinician.

Skin Care and Activity Guidance

Patients should avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least four hours post-treatment to reduce irritation and infection risk. The area should be kept clean and dry, using gentle cleansing only as advised by the clinician.

Strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and vigorous activity should be avoided for several days to minimise swelling and support proper healing.

Sun Exposure and Environmental Care

Direct sun exposure should be avoided for at least one week following treatment. If patients need to go outdoors, they should protect the treated area with appropriate clothing and high-SPF sunscreen.

Swimming pools, hot tubs and similar environments should be avoided for a minimum of five days to reduce the risk of infection and allow the skin to recover.

Hydration and Nutrition

Maintaining hydration after treatment remains important. Drinking adequate water supports lymphatic clearance and tissue recovery. A balanced, nutritious diet can further support healing and overall treatment outcomes.

Follow-Up and Expectations

Results from LipoLas develop progressively as the body clears treated fat and collagen remodelling continues. Patients should attend any recommended follow-up appointments so progress can be monitored and guidance adjusted if required.

Patience is key. Final outcomes take time, and adherence to aftercare guidance plays a significant role in the quality of results achieved.
